Starwood has launched their latest promotion where members can register and earn 2X Starpoints for the first 3 stays at all SPG hotels and resorts. There will be a bonus of up to 15,000 Starpoints for subsequent stays from the fourth stay onwards.
Achieve 20 nights and you'll earn an additional 10,000 Starpoints.
After 20 nights earn 500 Starpoints for each additional night, up to 5,000 Starpoints.
While the promotion is not very lucrative and will not make me shift all my stays to SPG, it is still a step in the right direction nonetheless. I love how this promotion is all inclusive, with no minimum nights requirement and does not have a list of hotels that are excluded. In the past there have been double and triple Starpoints promotions but that was only valid for multi night stays or stays over the weekends. This should be the way to go and I hope they will continue to do so until both loyalty programs merges in 2018. On a side note, Marriott is also running a similar promotion during the same time period. The link for the promotion is not up yet though.
